In my days of shooting with the Sony A100, I enjoyed shooting urban photography around the city of Greensboro. There are a lot of locations here that have great history and character. I was drawn to decaying structures and timeless monuments. I ended up publishing a Blurb Book using many of these images. Here are some of my favorite photos from around town. I sure do miss that Sigma 10-20mm lens! May have to find the Nikon version.
I employed a lot of HDR treatments which tend to be gritty to match the urban feel.

We took it on the road to Mrs. Charles’ hometown of Rutherford County, area code 828. There we teamed with 828 Area code talent for a couple of great model photography sessions around town. Models Jessica Ross and Nikeia Wilkins, hair by Angie Flack, makeup by Laneka Golden Wilkerson, and stylisting by Cortney Bohannon. The first Project 828 was a success!
Maxie B’s is a sweet spot to visit, for sure. I asked the owner if I could come by and take some photos of their creations and the staff was very accommodating. I am a big fan of food photography and would love to get the opportunity to do more shoots like this with local restaurants.
