ConvergeSouth has been one of the premiere events in the SouthEast for Content, Social Media and Web. We attended a few and was honored to be asked to be a sponsor and the official photographer for the ConvergeSouth 2013 Conference. It was held at the Elliott University Center on the campus of UNC Greensboro.
The Tweetup was held the day before at Proximity Hotel’s Printworks Bistro where attendees got a chance to socialize, become acquainted, and catch up.
It was a challenge to cover and soak in all of the amazing information. The toughest thing about these conferences is not being able to be in all simultaneously.

There’s something magical about Sunday weddings. We can never explain it, but there’s this calming, peaceful steadiness in the air. Candace and Otis were an absolute joy to work with, they were open to our ideas and had some great ideas of their own from their engagement session to Candace’s bridal portraits. We captured their “first look” in Proximity Hotel’s Bridal Suite. It was evident that Candace and Otis are the core of a large, loving family. We were honored to document this milestone in their lives.

On Wednesday, August 7th, CharlesMedia Photography was asked to capture images from the Professional Wedding Guild Luncheon at the Lofts at Union Square in High Point, NC. This was an amazing venue to shoot in with lots of natural light. Other vendors on hand to create a festive occasion were Sweet Basil’s Catering (Caterer), Tania’s Mixing Bowl Bakery (Dessert), Bridal Flavors (Stationary), Infinite Bliss Events (Centerpieces and Linens), and ABBA Design (floral arrangements) – coordinated by Knot Your Average Events and Perfect Wedding Guide.
We were honored to capture the lovely day!
After shooting Joe and Destiny’s engagement session a little over a year ago, we were asked back for round two…to capture their wedding day. It was a day filled with family, friends and LOTS of love. Being that it was an outside event, we weren’t sure how the weather was going to hold up. Stephen and I said a little prayer over our couple’s day and as always, our higher power came through. The rain stopped and a beautiful color palette of coral and cream filled the Hilton’s Courtyard. The love these two share is simply transparent, what you see is what you get. Joe with his cool, laid back, charismatic manner and Destiny’s cute dimples and “around the way girl” personality make a great team and best of all….great parents. We wish their growing family all the love and light their hearts can hold.

We were invited to capture Reverend Curtis’ Retirement Celebration in December and present a photobook. The event photography project took three days plus some extra shooting and incorporating of old images. I wanted to offer a feel for the whole experience that could not be captured in 60 pages and delivered a surprise DVD slideshow with some of his favorite songs. I hope that he likes them and receives them well. Slideshow embedded below and best viewed in HD.
Pastor Curtis pastored at First Emmanuel for 36 years.
